Amusement Centres

Action Zone
Action Zone is big, bright and noisy; basically, it is a children's paradise. It is located at Mina Road, nearr Toys R Us. There are themed carousels, amusement rides, a bungee trampoline, video games and a climbing maze section. Food is served and birthday parties hosted.

Fun City
Themed as a tropical forest, the park has a dramatic entrance built into a rock with the sound of thunder crashing all around. An array of computer and video games, carousels and other funfair facilities await inside. Previously known as Foton World, Fun City is a high-tech amusement outlet and it is located at Marina Mall.

Fun Island
Fun Island is located at Al Jernain Center, Shk Zayed 1st Street, Children under the age of five will get the most from this play centre, with its large area of soft play facilities: tube slides, ball ponds, hanging ropes and cruiser rollers. There is also a Lego room and computer games for older children.

Fun World
Located at Al Muhairy Building, Al Hosn, Fun World has a range of computer games which are intended to encourage kids to draw, paint, and solve puzzles; they can also thread beads and try their hand at sand art. There’s a soft play area, a coffee shop and children’s hairdresser all on the same floor.

Kidoos
Kidoos is a great play club for younger children. There's plenty to do with a large, soft play area, a sand box, an art centre and numerous computers. Refreshments are also available. Kidoos is at Abu Dhabi Mall, Al Mina.

Play & Learn
Located near the cinema at Marina Mall, Play & Learn offers computers and Play Station games for older children, along with a soft play area, an art centre and kitchen facilities.

Wanasa Land
For younger children, the new Wanasa Land has a large soft play area and animal themed carousels and amusement rides. The older children have a choice of 45 high-tech computerised games, an electronic shooting range and five hair-raising funfair rides. The food court is next door and has nine restaurants and fast food outlets. This amusement centre is located at Al Wahda Mall, Al Wahdah.

Wildlife Parks

Abu Dhabi Wildlife Centre
Abu Dhabi Wildlife Centre was designed by Ms. Ronel Smuts, with a core vision to care for sick and orphaned animals – specifically cheetahs. This is now a rehabilitation and breeding centre for endangered species, operating as a non-profit agency. The centre is located near Al Wathba, Al Ain Road.

Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort
Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort is located at the foot of Jebel Hafeet. The 400-hectare wildlife park has one of the largest animal collections of both local and exotic species. Conditions for the animals are very modern and some of the highlights include gazelle and Arabian oryx in large numbers and giant tortoises.

Arabian Wildlife Park
Located on Baniyas Island 240 km west of Abu Dhabi, the Arabian Wildlife Park, which contains free roaming animals, takes up more than three quarters of island, and now offers game drives. One way to take part in these adventures is to stay at the Desert Island Resort and Spa, who work in tandem with Abu Dhabi's Tourism Development and Investment Company on this project. Alternatively guests staying at the Danat Resort Jebel Dhanna can book a three hour tour costing AED285 per person. There are many Arabian oryx, gazelle and giraffe, along with the newest arrivals hyenas and cheetahs, and the service is first rate. There are two flights a week to the island from Abu Dhabi.

Kids Park
The Kids Park is Abu Dhabi's first petting zoo. Located 35 kilometres outside the city on the road to Dubai, the Kids Park offers children the chance to get up close to their favourite animals, combining learning with touch. There are lots of animals in this five acre farm, including peacocks, ostriches, ibex, camels, horses, raccoons, ferrets, exotic fish and exotic birds.
